Over the past 100 years, Blacktown City has been the proud home for many of Australia's great sporting champions and will no doubt be so for many more into the future. Our great City enjoys the full spectrum of sporting activities across all age groups and the representation of the more than 100 Nationalities that make up our multi-cultural community.

Boasting more than 800 Parks and Sporting Reserves, Blacktown City also has its own Olympic Park which a magnificent legacy from the Sydney 2000 Olympics. The City also has many other world-class sporting and recreational venues. more info...

6th Blacktown City Games

The 6th Blacktown City Games are now on in Blacktown City - the largest celebration of sport in Western Sydney!

Over 12 months, residents, athletes, teams and coaches will be witness to a kaleidoscope of sports and recreational activities as part of the City Games.

Council last hosted the City Games in 2006 as part of the Centenary of Local Government celebrations. In 2011/12, the City Games will again bring people together, share cultures, build friendships and unlock talents that lay undiscovered.

    Blacktown City Council’s 6th City Games continues to bring people together to share the love of sport. The 12 month long series of events is designed to provide sporting opportunities where people share different cultures, build friendships and unlock talents that lie undiscovered.

    Emerton Leisure Centre’s ongoing hard work and success on a variety of water safety programs and training initiatives for the Aboriginal community continues with the upcoming funded AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course, run in conjunction with Royal Life Saving.
