Council Elections Information

Council Elections will be held on Saturday 13 September 2008. Voting is compulsory for Australian Citizens resident in NSW 18 years of age or older.

The NSW Electoral Commission will be running the Elections. The Returning Officer for the Elections, Ms Vicki Gallen is located in the Function Room on the 1st Floor of the Max Webber Library, Flushcombe Road, Blacktown. Further information on the Elections including the location of polling places, voting times and postal and pre poll voting arrangements are available by phoning 1300 135 736 or by visiting the NSW Electoral Commission Website

Absentee voting is not available for Local Government Elections. Therefore, if you are unable to vote on polling day, you may contact the returning officer on 1300 135 736 to apply for a postal vote or lodge a pre poll vote at either the Max Webber Library or Mount Druitt Senior Citizen Centre located in Ayres Grove, Mount Druitt from Monday 1 September 2008 through to Friday 12 September 2008 (excluding weekends) between the hours 8:30am to 4:30pm. Pre poll voting will be available to 6pm on Friday 12 September 2008.
