Jamboree

The Event

Beginning on Friday the 8th - Sunday 10th of September there will be a spectacular celebration of all that is outdoor adventure. TheJamboree will include presentations and events put on by the Australian Air League, Scouting NSW, the Australian Army Cadet Brigade and Guides NSW.

Air League

The Australian Air League is an exhilarating group for youths aged 8-18 years who want to learn about fl ying and aviation. As well as learning about aviation they also take part in a wide range of exciting and motivating activities such as camping, hiking, sport and physical recreation, building and fl ying of model aircraft, drills and marching bands. The Air League has been in the local community since 1938, and has three squadrons in the Blacktown Area.

Scouting

The mission of scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, both boys and girls aged from 6 to 26 years. Through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, scouting helps build a better world where people are self-fulfi lled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. Challenge yourself for adventure and fun, learn new skills and make new friends. Try Rock-climbing, sailing and bush walking. Explore the wonders of the world, people, places and the wilderness.

Cadets

202 Army Cadet Unit- Blacktown The NSW Australian Army Cadet Brigade 202 offers young boys and girls the opportunity to discover adventures they never dreamed of. The Cadets allows for young adults aged 12 to 18 to experience many adventures such as advanced bushcraft and survival skills, abseiling, Military Discipline, annual camps and Coaching Courses, Ceremonial Drills, Parades and much more.

Guides

Guiding offers girls a wide range of diverse activities ranging from life skills to outdoor activities. The girls range in age from 6 years (Gumnut Guides), 7 - 10 years (Brownie Guides), 10 - 14 years Guides, 14 - 18 years (Ranger Guides). Some of the activities enjoyed by the girls are craft, cooking, camping, hiking, abseiling, indoor rock climbing, archery, boating, skiing, personal development, learning many life skills, and most of all meeting new friends.
