Skating
History
Roller sports have existed in the world community for more than 100 years. The various branches of the sport have grown and become increasingly sophisticated since their introduction. The association was formed in the 1970's in response to the growing demand for organised events within the roller skating community. It continues to provide competition for four branches of the sport:
-Artistic roller skating
-Speed skating
-Roller Hockey
-Inline Hockey
-Artistic roller skating

-Inline Hockey
Information about Skating in NSW
SkateNSW is the peak body recognised by the NSW Department of Sport and recreation for the administration and organisation of Roller Sports in NSW. In addition Skate NSW is affi liated with Skate Australia, recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as the premier authority for Roller Sports in Australia. Skate Australia is, in turn, affiliated with the Federation of International Roller Sports (FIRS).
