On March 17 2006 the Australian 2004 Olympic Silver Medallists willtake on the Bronze Medallists Japan in a five Test series. This action-packed competition will take place at the Blacktown Olympic Park as part of the Blacktown City Centenary Games. Japan have recently beaten World and Olympic Champions the USA and Australia is looking forward to the challenge of playing Japan on home soil. Both teams are currently preparing for the 2006 World Championship to be held in Beijing where Japan and Australia are contenders for the title of World Champions. Stacey Porter, Blacktown Olympic Athlete is looking forward to playing Japan; "It will be a great guide as to where we sit in preparation for the World Championship next year. Japan is a strong hitting team and their defence rarely make errors, therefore it will be a tough 5 games". This is a great chance to see Olympic Action at its fi nest, so come on down to the NSW softball Centre on March 17 for a fine display of sporting aptitude that the Centenary Games can offer.
